Description
The issue of radicalisation in prisons in the European Union is a growing concern that needs to be addressed urgently. In response, The Security Distillery think tank proposes a conference aiming at increasing awareness and understanding of this growing concern. The conference targets students, scholars, practitioners, and academics interested in the topic of preventing and countering radicalisation in prisons, offering an opportunity for attendees to learn and share perspectives.
The event will provide insights into EU directives and countermeasures, identify best practices, and promote exchange among experts and students. The conference will feature a range of experts and practitioners in the field, including Dr. Maura Conway, Ms. Ana Maria Gomes, Ms. Myria Vassiliadou, Mr. Peter Neumann, Mr. Ian Acheson, and Dr. James Carr.
By bringing together such a diverse group of experts, the conference aims to facilitate a rich and informative discussion. It is anticipated that the event will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and ideas, identifying best practices, and developing new approaches for preventing and countering radicalisation in prisons in the European Union.
The conference will include keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions covering topics such as the current state of radicalisation in EU prisons, EU directives on radicalisation, best practices in preventing and countering radicalisation, and challenges and opportunities in addressing this issue. Attendees will have the chance to engage with this important issue and contribute to the ongoing efforts to address this threat in the European Union.
